Hailey Bieber, Selena Gomez 'Just Want To Remain Friendly': Report

Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez seemed to have ended the awkward tension between them after their much-talked-about snap at Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles.

While some may be wondering if the pair would ever get together for any kind of bonding activity as friends, a source explained to ET that though they are "glad to have cleared the air" between them, Hailey and Gomez "are more than cordial" but "just want to remain friendly."

For years, the female celebrities have been the subject of feud rumors following Hailey's marriage to Gomez's ex, Justin Bieber. Hailey and Justin said "I do" in a lavish ceremony in South Carolina in 2019. The couple later revealed they were secretly married in 2018 just a couple of months after getting engaged in the Bahamas in July of the same year.

Hailey and Gomez attended the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles on Oct. 17 and posed for a photograph for Tyrell Hampton who later uploaded the snap on his Instagram page and captioned the rare photo, "Plot twist." The snap garnered over a million likes with most fans rejoicing over the surprise photo.

Days before the snap, Hailey clarified that she did not "steal" Justin from Gomez.

"When him and I started hanging out... hooking up or anything of that sort, he was not ever in a relationship at any point. It's not my character to mess with someone's relationship, I was raised better than that," Hailey said in the podcast aired on Sept. 27.

She also clarified that she did not cry when fans chanted, "Selena" during the 2021 Met Gala. "I felt like I had something in my eye," she said in the podcast and pointed out that she put on a pair of dark sunglasses as part of her look for the event.

Justin, Hailey and Gomez "are glad to have cleared the air, moved on with their lives, and closed that chapter," the ET source said, adding that the three celebrities are currently focused on their personal lives.

"Selena is doing amazing and is just focusing on herself, her family, and her close-knit circle of friends. She's not trying to settle down right now and she's just living her best life."

"Hailey and Justin are doing great in their relationship. They are so in love and focusing on their work, as well as their mental and physical health," the source further said.
