Hallmark has issued a recall for its frosted balsam soy blend jar candles because the glass jar can potentially break when the candle is lit, causing a fire and laceration hazard.

The recall affects 4,500 candles that were sold exclusively at Norman’s Hallmark stores in New Jersey and Pennsylvania from September to December 2019.

The affected scented candles are green and have three wicks. They measure about 5 inches by 4.5 inches in diameter and were packaged with a metal top. The candles were also printed with Hallmark, frosted balsam, and an image of a snowy pine cone on the front of the jar.

The recalled candles have a date code of 9211D and an SKU code of FXKT1747, which is located on the bottom of the candle on a white label. The UPC code is 763795556991 and is also located on the white label on the bottom of the candle. The cost of the candle was about $28. Labels of the recalled candles can be viewed here.

Consumers that have purchased the recalled candles should stop using them immediately. They should return them to the store where they were purchased for a full refund and a $10 Hallmark Gold Crown gift card.

Questions about the recall can be directed to Hallmark at 1-800-HALLMARK (1-800-425-5627), Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST or online at www.hallmark.com by clicking on Product Recalls at the bottom of the page.

Hallmark has received six reports of the candle’s glass jar breaking, causing fire to nearby items. The company said it has not received any reports of injuries related to the recall.
