Hallmark Channel’s Fall Harvest event ended last weekend, but the new premieres are starting right up again during Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas series, which starts on Saturday night.

The first new movie of the programming event is “Marry Me at Christmas,” which features Trevor Donovan and Rachel Skarsten as the romantic leads.

Donovan might be best known from his time on “Days of Our Lives” or from his role as Teddy Montgomery on “90210,” but he’s also becoming a popular actor in the Hallmark family, having been in 2012’s “Strawberry Summer” and 2016’s “Love on the Limb.”

Skarsten, on the other hand, is a relative newcomer to the network’s family, with this being her first time as the lead, and only her second time in a Hallmark movie, with the first time being as a secondary character in 2014s’s “In My Dreams.”

Now, the two are working together to kick off Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas with a fun, movie-star-meets-small-town-girl flick.

“Co-owners of Paper Moon Bridal, Maddie Krug (Skarsten) and Isabel (Crystal Lowe) are adding last-minute touches to the shop’s décor, while Isabel bemoans their sluggish business and how they might need to close if things don’t improve. Maddie, ever the optimist, assures her that they’ll make it,” the synopsis teases.

A way to make a little extra money and possibly a way to get new business comes their way when Ginger (Emily Tennant) and her fiancé Oliver (Blair Penner), while shopping for a wedding dress, ask Maddie to plan their wedding, which is taking place at Christmas, right there in their town of Fool’s Gold. Though Maddie isn’t a wedding planner, Isabel convinces her that this could be good for the business.

“Upon arriving in Fool’s Gold, action movie star Johnny Blake (Donovan) meets Maddie, who is utterly surprised to learn he is Ginger’s brother, and the guy who is paying for the wedding,” the synopsis continues. “Unimpressed by his celebrity, Maddie is also a bit put-off by Johnny’s take-charge attitude toward the wedding.”

Maddie’s a little upset to have to be working so closely with him since they aren’t getting along well, but she has to do what’s best for her business. As the two are working together, though, Johnny’s chilly side starts to warm and he begins to open himself up to Maddie and the town. Johnny begins to realize he’s falling for Maddie, but she’s still dealing with the sudden departure of her ex.

Will Maddie be able to get over her ex so she can open herself up to Johnny? If so, will the two very different people be able to make it in the long run?

“Marry Me at Christmas,” which was directed by Terry Ingram and written by Julie Sherman Wolfe based off of the novel by Susan Mallery, premieres on Hallmark Channel on Saturday at 8/7c p.m.
