Hallmark Channel Winterfest Movies 2019 Schedule: ‘One Winter Proposal’ And More
Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas still has a few premieres left, but the network’s already looking ahead to its first batch of 2019 flicks.
Winterfest 2019 kicks off Jan. 5, and the lineup features five new movies, including a royal romance, a sequel to one of 2018’s hit movies, two flicks starring Kevin McGarry and more.
Check out Hallmark Channel’s full Winterfest 2019 schedule below.
“Winter Castle” (Jan. 5 at 8 p.m. EST)
“Chesapeake Shores” actress Emilie Ullerup and “When Calls the Heart” newcomer McGarry find love at a wedding in an ice hotel, and it doesn’t get much more Hallmark Winterfest than that.
“Jenny (Ullerup) is thrilled when her sister decides to get married at an ice hotel,” the synopsis begins. “Her sister is just as excited to set Jenny up with the best man, Craig (McGarry), until they are introduced to Craig’s date, the fur-laden Lana [Meghan Heffern]. Jenny and Craig are constantly thrown together and can’t ignore their obvious connection as they try everything from ice sculpting to dog sledding and snow tubing.”
“One Winter Proposal” (Jan. 12 at 8 p.m. EST)
Taylor Cole, Jack Turner, Rukiya Bernard and Dewshane Williams are back in this sequel to 2018’s “One Winter Weekend.”
Cara (Cole) and Ben (Turner) head back to the resort where they first fell in love, to not only celebrate her novel and his new company but to also play matchmaker for Megan (Bernard) and Sean (Williams). The two met last time around, but it’s time they reunite and see if the spark they once had is still there.
While at the resort, Cara finds a jewelry receipt in Ben’s pocket, but now he’s worried about proposing after reading the new ending to her novel, which has the main characters breaking up.
“A Winter Princess” (Jan. 18 at 8 p.m. EST)
Starring Natalie Hall, in her first Hallmark movie since 2012, and “WCTH” newbie Chris McNally, this romance is all about a commoner falling for a royal, but with the woman being the royal this time around, it’s a little different from most of the ones the network has done in the past.
“When Carly [Hall] plans Snowden Peak’s Snow Ball with Jesse [McNally], their attraction is undeniable. But when Carly’s twin, Prince Gustav, arrives her royal identity is nearly exposed,” the synopsis reveals. “As Jesse and Carly decide to hold the ball at Summit Lodge, they make the gala a fundraiser to turn the resort into a year-round destination. But without a celebrity draw, investors aren’t interested, and Snowden Peak is put up for sale. Too bad no one knows any royalty who could entice affluent socialites to the gala, which could raise enough money to make Snowden Peak a four-season resort for royalty and commoners alike.”
“Winter Love Story” (Jan. 19 at 8 p.m. EST)
In his second Winterfest 2019 premiere, McGarry stars alongside Jen Lilley, as well as Mary-Margaret Humes. The film follows debut author Cassie (Lilley) as she heads out on a book tour with successful author Elliot (McGarry). In the beginning, she finds him to be completely full of himself, but along the way, she sees his true heart.
“Snowcoming” (Jan. 26 at 8 p.m. EST)
As International Business Times previously reported, Trevor Donovan and Lindy Booth, along with Joe Theismann and Ed Marinaro, are teaming up for the final Winterfest 2019 premiere.
“Samantha [Booth], once jilted by her high school sweetheart Jake [Donovan] during Snowcoming, returns home to honor her football coach father, who’s retiring, and runs into Jake, now a famous quarterback,” the synopsis shares. “Although it’s awkward, their obvious chemistry is still there. Later, after seeing the library needs updating, Samantha asks Jake to use his celebrity as a draw for a ‘Tailgate at the Library’ fundraiser.”
The synopsis continues: “At the successful event, a nosy reporter probes Samantha about Jake’s future in football, and lets it slip that Jake is leaving town. Stunned, Samantha wonders if Jake will allow his career to fumble their romance once again.”
