Hallmark ‘Marrying Father Christmas’ Premiere: See Cast, Trailer
Erin Krakow and Niall Matter are back for the third installment of Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ “Finding Father” franchise. Airing on Sunday, “Marrying Father Christmas” is the network’s first new movie of its Miracles of Christmas event.
Following the events of “Engaging Father Christmas,” Miranda (Krakow) and Ian (Matter) are ready to finally tie the knot. Unfortunately, it’s easier said than done.
“After her romantic engagement last Christmas, Miranda prepares to marry Ian this Christmas surrounded by his family and her new family, the Whitcombs,” the synopsis begins. “Upon arriving to the charming town of Carlton Heath for her wedding week, Miranda is welcomed by Ian, his parents Andrew (Michael Kopsa) and Katherine (P. Lynn Johnson), along with Margaret Whitcomb (Wendie Malick), her half-brother Peter (Jim Thorburn) and his wife Ellie (Julia Benson)”
After seeing a man named Charles Finley (Bill Dow) at her Boston office days earlier, Miranda’s surprised to see him again, this time in Carlton Heath. The shock only continues when he reveals himself to be her uncle. This news doesn’t make sense to Miranda because her mom always said she was an only child. Not knowing what to believe, she decides to send him away in order to preserve the Whitcomb’s privacy.
“When Miranda tells Ian about Charles, his primary concern is for her wellbeing,” the synopsis continues. “He advises her to be careful about trusting Charles too quickly. However, when a package filled with photographs from her mother’s childhood arrives from Charles, Miranda realizes he had been telling the truth and tries to track him down.”
While one couple looks to get married, another begins to form. When Margaret reconnects with an old friend, Thomas Reid (Barry Flatman), sparks start to fly. She decides to take things slow, though, because she’s cautious about being hurt.
Later, Miranda’s finally able to reach Charles, and he explains to her what happened between him and her mom. The two had a falling out a while back and never made up. Although Miranda’s happy to have met Charles, she’s not too sure about having him at her wedding.
“As Miranda’s wedding approaches, she must decide if she wants to include Charles in one of the most momentous days of her life,” the synopsis concludes. “So close to her happily ever after, Miranda wants to make sure that she enters the next chapter of merging her life with Ian’s on the best possible note.”
Catch “Marrying Father Christmas” when it airs on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries on Sunday at 9 p.m. EDT.
