The time is ticking if you’re still planning to dress up this Halloween. While most stores are likely already sold out of the best 2019 has to offer, those looking for the perfect costume are not out of luck! Compiled below are the 10 best DIY Halloween costume ideas for the year. And the best part? They are all simple to make and will cost you next to nothing to create.

Eye Candy

This smart costume is super quick and cheap. All you will need to do is pick up a pair of googly eyes ($2 at Target) and stick them onto a shirt of your choice. You will follow that by sticking small pieces of candy to the same shirt and voila, you’re eye candy.

Smarty Pants

Another variation of the eye candy look is the smarty pants idea. To create this costume, attach small packets of Smarties candies to any pair of pants. (Target sells a one-pound bag for $2.89). To ram up the look, you can sport a pair of glasses or carry a book to make yourself look “smarter.”

If you happen to have a large box lying around, put it to good use by making it into a Lego Halloween costume. (You can use this official costume as inspiration.) Start by using a plastic cup to measure the size of the eight holes you will cut into the box. After cutting the holes, glue the cups into the box. Don't forget to cut out holes for your head and arms to fit through! Finish by painting the box and cups your favorite Lego color. You can enhance this look by wearing clothes that match the color of your Lego piece.

A Present

You can also use a large cardboard box to make a present Halloween costume. Simply wrap the box in your favorite wrapping paper and decorate it as you wish. Cut out body and armholes to wear it.

Dominoes

This DIY costume is perfect for a couple or a set of friends. Simply dress in all black and adorn white paper circles to your outfits in the style of a domino. Each costume will also need a single white strip of paper to separate the dots in order to complete the domino look.

You don’t have to pay a fortune at the party store to have a Forky costume. The “Toy Story 4” character is easy to make at home. You will need blue, red, and black markers and a large piece of white paper to make a Forky mask. Wearing a red long-sleeved top and white pants help finish the look. Pig in a Blanket

If you’re willing to spend a few dollars on a costume pig nose ($4.99 from Oriental Trading), you can easily transform yourself into a pig in a blanket this Halloween. Simply wear the nose and complete the look by draping a blanket over your shoulders. If you want to make your costume more obvious, wear pink.

Pumpkin Pi

If you happen to have a pumpkin on hand, you can easily pull off this DIY costume. Take any shirt (bonus points if it is orange!) and attach the PI symbol (π) to it. Grab your pumpkin, and there you have it -- a super-easy way to be Pumpkin Pi!

Wind-up Doll

You can wear any outfit for this look. To create the illusion of being a wind-up doll, you will need one piece of cardboard, an empty paper towel roll, a long piece of elastic, and spray paint. You can watch a full step-by-step guide on how to create it above. You can complete this costume by painting red circles on your cheeks for a more doll-like look.

Men In Black

If you happen to have a black suit on hand, put it to good use this Halloween by playing off of the summer release of "Men in Black: International". To become a Men in Black, wear the suit, a white undershirt, and a black tie. Finish off the look with a pair of black glasses.
