Halloween Costume Ideas 2021: 5 Last-Minute DIY Costumes And How To Make Them
Halloween is almost here, and if you haven’t ordered your costume online or picked one up from the store it may be tough coming up with ideas.
If you’re feeling a little hopeless when it comes to dressing up this Halloween, there is still time to make a costume that won’t break the bank.
Check out these five last-minute, DIY Halloween costumes ideas:
1. Librarian -- Get ready to take a deep dive into your closet to search for a couple of basic items. You’ll need a plaid skirt, a collared blouse, a cardigan sweater, and a pair of glasses. If you already wear glasses, it’s a plus, but if you don’t, search for a simple pair of old sunglasses and pop out the lenses. You can go one step further and buy a few books to complete your costume.
2. Jelly Belly’s -- To become this popular confection, grab a clear trash bag, assorted color balloons, a red ribbon and a color printer. Fill the trash bag with the balloons and cut small holes for the arms. Secure the bag with the red ribbon around the neck. Print the Jelly Belly’s logo and tape it to the bag.
3. Smarty Pants -- To achieve this look, stick a small packet of the Smarties candy to a pair of jeans or pants. (Walmart sells a one-pound bag for $2.38). Throw on a pair of glasses or carry a book around to add a little flare to the costume.
4. Gumball Machine -- To bring this gumball machine to life, you’ll need a white shirt, glue gun, pom-pom balls, safety pins, and some black and grey felt. Attach the pom-poms to the white shirt using the glue gun. Then use the felt to make the 25-cent price sign. Attach the sign to the belt by using the safety pins.
5. Rosie The Riveter -- This Halloween costume calls for a few basic wardrobe items. You’ll need a chambray top, pair of jeans and lace-up boots. Pull your hair back and add in a red bandana to complete the look.
