Halloween is quickly approaching and if you are hosting a party, you want to make sure you have everything you need for your costume-themed bashed. Celebrate the day of horror and fun without stressing out over last-minute details. Below are seven things you need to have on you Halloween party to-do list, from decorations to the perfect playlist.

1. Themed Food

While food is a given, guests will be thriled to see a shot glass full of blood that’s actually hot chocolate or a graveyard that is actually salsa dip. There are several spooky Halloween recipes that you can easily prepare in time for your bash.

2. Decorations

You want to make sure you create a memorable atmosphere for your guests. Paper bats, cobwebs and spiders are great choices when creating a spooky environment. You can also dress up pumpkins by carving them and spraying them with metallic paint.

3. Invitations

Announcing that you are throwing a party on your social media page is not enough. You need to send out invitations and request R.S.V.P’s, that way you have an idea of how many people to expect and how much of everything you should have.

4. Goodies

Whether you fill a basket with candy, mini bottles of alcohol, accessories or something else, give your guests something to look forward to by offering them the opportunity to dig through a mystery box.

5. Spooky Music

You can always play the top 40 songs of today during your bash but mix in some Halloween themed tunes like “Thriller” by Michael Jackson or download theme songs from horror movies like “Halloween” and “Nightmare on Elm Street.”

6. Camera

By the time everyone posts their selfies on Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, there is a good chance that battery life on their mobile devices will be scarce. Prior to your party, make sure you charge up your camera batteries and clear the space on your memory card so can capture every moment of the fun night. Ask a close friend or family member to be the photographer for the night so you’ll have one less thing to stress about.

7. Costume Accessories

At most Halloween parties , costumes are encouraged, but it’s also fun to have some additional accessories lying around. Set out some feathered boas, tiaras, fangs, wigs, hats, masks and anything else you may like. Place it on a table and let your guests get creative.
