The ‘Halloweentown’ Cast Reunited Over The Weekend; See The Festive Photos
It was on the day after a Friday the 13th, on Oct. 14, that the Cromwell clan reunited in Halloweentown. Well, at the Spirit of Halloweentown event in St. Helens, Oregon, that is.
The town is decorated and festive from the start of October until the end, but it wasn’t until this mid-October day that fans could come to see the cast — Kimberly J. Brown (Marnie), Judith Hoag (Gwen), Joey Zimmerman (Dylan) and Emily Roeske (Sophie) — of Disney Channel’s iconic film “Halloweentown” reunite.
The 1998 film centered on Marnie, who after finding out she’s a witch, decides to save the people of Halloweentown from an evil warlock, Kalabar (Robin Thomas), with the help of her family.
“The fam bam is back together,” Brown wrote on Twitter, along with a photo of her and her former co-stars.
Of course, Brown couldn’t go all the way to Halloweentown and not get a chance to ride in Benny’s cab. Though this time, she took driver’s seat. “Gave Benny the day off and took the Haunted cab for a spin! Just kidding but I did take some pics in it,” she captioned the photo.
And what would a Halloweentown visit be without a picture in front of the giant pumpkin (which is the spirit of the town)?
While this isn’t the first time some of these actors have participated in the recreation and celebration of “Halloweentown,” this year’s get-together had special meaning for the cast. They lost one of their own, Debbie Reynolds, who played Grandma/Mom Aggie Cromwell, in December of last year.
“This year we wanted to do something extra special,” Brown said in a YouTube video announcing the cast’s participation in The Spirit of Halloweentown. “As you’re probably aware, unfortunately, late last year we lost the incomparable Debbie Reynolds, who played Grandma Aggie. And while I was so sad, I was also happy for her that she was at peace with her daughter Carrie [Fisher], whom she loved so much. We wanted to do a special tribute to her and her role as Grandma Aggie and have a small monument set up there for her. So we’re going to do that this year during the lighting ceremony.”
And honor Reynolds they did, along with all of the fans who came out to celebrate with them.
“Thank you to all our #Halloweentown & #spiritofhalloweentown fans for braving the cold to celebrate the life & legacy of @DebbieReynolds1,” Hoag captioned a video of the celebration on Twitter.
If you weren’t able to make it out to the cheerful and nostalgic event this year, you can always catch the Cromwells on TV when “Halloweentown” and its sequels air on Disney Channel. Find out when the movies are airing this year HERE.
