Hannibal
Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) will be living in Italy in the "Hannibal" Season 3 premiere. NBC

Dinner is served! “Hannibal” returns to NBC with the Season 3 premiere on Thursday at 10 p.m. EDT. When fans tune in to the new episodes, Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mad Mikkelsen) will be in Italy with Bedelia (Gillian Anderson) under a new identity, hiding out after the fatal finish to Season 2. In case some fans are still in shock, here’s how everything went down in the last year’s finale.

Jack’s (Laurence Fishburne) season long quest to take down Hannibal all came down to one deadly dinner. Hannibal sent a cheeky invite to the FBI agent, who arrived at the serial killer’s home expecting the bureau to back him up. However, the FBI had grown tired of Jack’s reckless pursuit of Lecter and, unbeknownst to Jack, no back up was on the way.

So, Jack and Hannibal had their meeting with Will (Hugh Dancy) caught in the middle, having promised Jack he would help him and having promised Hannibal that he would run away with him after he killed Jack. When Jack made his move, Hannibal was ready for him, stabbing his throat and leaving him to bleed to death in the wine cellar. Meanwhile, Alana (Caroline Dhavernas) came to the house looking for Jack and Will, only to be thrown out of the second story window to her death by a very-much-alive Abigail (Kacey Rohl).

Finally, Will arrived and was shocked to find Abigail in the house. Confronting Hannibal, the cannibal killer cradled Will’s head in his arms before slicing his stomach open, taking revenge for Will’s betrayal. Will had called to warn Hannibal about Jack’s plan, but the vindictive Hannibal was already mad that Will had exposed him after he let Will see his true self. To further emphasize his point, Hannibal slit Abigail’s throat as Will watched. He then left the profiler to die on the floor.

When viewers last saw Hannibal he was on a plane with Bedelia during a bonus after-credits sequence. Fans now know the pair will end up in Florence. What their new life look like in Season 3? Fans will have to wait to find out. “Hannibal” Season 3 premieres Thursday at 10 p.m. EDT on NBC.
