Tottenham forward Kane, who has won the Premier League Golden Boot three times, has netted six goals in seven league games this season. Kane wants to win the prestigious award again this term despite the threat from the in-form Haaland.
Speaking to reporters ahead of England's Nations League fixture in Italy, Kane said, he scored six goals in seven games, which is "probably one of the best starts I've had in the Premier League."
"Especially in the Premier League when you're coming up against the best strikers, it pushes every player around you to be better. Everyone's talking about Haaland because he's had an incredible start to the season, so rightly so. As you know me, I don't focus on too many other people, I focus on myself and what I can do," Kane said in the press conference.
Manchester City and Tottenham are in second and third place in the Premier League table with 17 points each, one behind table-toppers Arsenal. City and Spurs are the only two clubs to have not suffered a defeat yet in the 2022-23 Premier League.
"We've had a good start to the season with Spurs, we probably haven't played our best football but that's a good sign to be where we are knowing we can improve. And it's probably one of the best starts I've had in the Premier League," added Kane in the same conference.
Following the end of the ongoing international break, City have a big game lined up as they are set to host derby rivals Manchester United at Etihad Stadium on Oct. 2. Spurs, on the other hand, are going to lock horns against Mikel Arteta's Arsenal on Oct. 1 at Emirates Stadium.
