Harry Morton, 38, founder of the Pink Taco restaurant chain was found dead at his home in Beverly Hills Saturday, the company confirmed.
“We are saddened by the passing of Harry Morton, the founder and former owner of Pink Taco,” Pink Taco said in their statement. “Harry was a visionary and restaurateur ahead of his time, and his contributions, both professionally to our brand and personally to those he worked with, were numerous. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and friends during this difficult time.”
The details about his death were not immediately available, however, PEOPLE reported that there was no evidence of foul play. Harry was discovered lying unresponsive at his Beverly Hills home by his brother Matthew. An autopsy report is pending.
Harry was the son of Peter Morton, who co-founded the Hard Rock Cafe and Hotels. His grandfather Arnie Morton was the founder of Morton’s The Steakhouse.
The Pink Taco restaurant chain, which now has locations across the nation including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago, and Boston, was founded by Morton in 1999, at the age of 18.
Harry also previously owned the Viper Room nightclub in West Hollywood, of which Johnny Depp was a co-owner as well. Earlier this year, Morton brought Elvis Presley’s former Beverly Hills estate for $25 million, Los Angeles Times reported.
Over the years, Harry dated many Hollywood actresses including Demi Moore, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, and Jennifer Aniston.
Lohan, who famously dated Harry back in 2006, posted a black and white snapshot of her with Harry on Instagram with the caption “Best Friends. Best Life.”
Harry was also a volunteer sheriff’s deputy in and around L.A. and was honored as a Reserve Detective of the year by the West Hollywood Sheriff's Station.
