'Harry Potter' Tops 'Twilight' at Teen Choice Awards

You can add another feat of magic to resume of Harry Potter: he beat "Twilight" at the Teen Choice Awards.

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1," last summer's penultimate installment in enormously profitable Potter series, was named Choice Movie, Sci-Fi/Fantasy at the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday night at the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles, halting a seemingly unstoppable streak of the "Twilight" movies winning nearly every possible award at previous Teen Choice ceremonies.

While the Potter saga won seven awards and received a special tribute at the end of the night, Harry's victory was not complete: among other "Twilight" triumphs, Lautner beat Radcliffe for Choice Movie Actor, Sci-Fi Fantasy.

And, truth be told, the Potter vs. Twilight showdown was only one of the bits of news to come out of the Teen Choice Awards, a kudofest where winners are chosen by internet votes, "Jersey Shore" not only gets nominations but scores a couple of victories, nobody's embarrassed to give two awards to the famously unsuccessful "The Tourist," Taylor Swift qualifies as a legend and Justin Bieber always comes out on top in a few categories.

Bieber's 2011 haul included Choice Music Male Artist, Choice Male Hottie, Choice TV Villain for his "CSI" appearance and, to counterbalance all that love, Choice Twit.

His girlfriend, Selena Gomez, did even better, winning three awards for her music and one for her acting, and adding Choice Female Hottie to prove she's just as hot as her beau.

Other multiple winners: "The Vampire Diaries," Paramore and Taylor Swift, who was also given the Ultimate Choice Award.

The show was hosted by Kaley Cuoco from "The Big Bang Theory," and featured performances by Gomez, OneRepublic and Will.i.am.
