Harry Styles, Olivia Wilde Relationship 'Main Reason' For Jason Sudeikis Split, Reports Say

Olivia Wilde's relationship with Harry Styles left ex Jason Sudeikis heartbroken, reports say.

Wilde and Sudeikis' split made headlines in November, though several outlets reported that they actually parted ways in early 2020. However, the New York Post recently learned from sources close to the exes that they split in November, but Wilde's relationship with Styles has been going on allegedly since October.

"Olivia and Jason were having issues, like any other couple, but Jason loves Olivia — he completely adores her, and that’s what makes this so sad. He’s always been committed to making their family work," the source said, as quoted by New York Post's Page Six.

"People have tried to make out that Harry and Olivia have only been dating for the past few weeks, but that’s not right," the insider continued. "Jason found out about Harry and pushed the conversation. Olivia then asked for a separation and news of the split was made public."

Wilde and Sudeikis were together for nine years and were engaged for seven. They share two kids, 6-year-old son Otis and 4-year-old daughter Daisy.

Another source told People similar information, claiming Sudeikis had not expected Wilde to end their relationship because they were "very much together as recently as this fall."

"Jason feels that the timeline that Olivia and Harry would like people to believe—that she and Jason split ages ago, long before she became involved with Harry—is simply not accurate," the insider said. "She began filming ['Don't Worry Darling'] in September, and by October, he began to get the impression that she wanted out. By November, they'd announced their split."

However, another insider who spoke with Entertainment Tonight said Sudeikis is unlikely to be "blindsided" by the news of Wilde moving on with someone new as the exes apparently communicate regularly.

"So it's not like she's rushing into something. Olivia and Jason talk all the time and are still close because of the kids. It's highly unlikely he was blind-sided by this news," the source told ET.

The source said Wilde has always liked the "Watermelon Sugar" singer. In fact, this was reportedly the reason she cast Styles in her latest movie.

The actress previously admitted to doing "a little victory dance" when Styles officially joined her film and gushed over the singer. "To me, he’s very modern and I hope that this brand of confidence as a male that Harry has -- truly devoid of any traces of toxic masculinity -- is indicative of his generation and therefore the future of the world," Wilde said while commenting on Styles' Vogue cover in November. "I think he is in many ways championing that, spearheading that. It's pretty powerful and kind of extraordinary to see someone in his position redefining what it can mean to be a man with confidence.”

Wilde and Styles went public with their relationship last weekend at a friend's wedding in Montecito, California, where they were spotted holding hands. She was then seen visiting Sudeikis following her sighting with Styles.
