Has Brad Pitt 'Apologized' To Jennifer Aniston For Being An 'Absentee' Husband?
As reports continue to circulate regarding the status of his still unofficial divorce from Angelina Jolie almost a year after they split, Brad Pitt is rumored to be trying to make things up to his other famous ex—Jennifer Aniston.
According to In Touch Weekly (via The Mirror), Pitt, 53, has reportedly reached out to Aniston, 48, and apologized for both allegedly being an "absentee" husband to her, and then eventually leaving her for Jolie.
"He's been determined to apologize for everything he put her through, and that's exactly what he did," a source reportedly told the magazine. "It was the most intimate conversation Brad and Jen have ever had."
Pitt also reportedly apologized for not being the best husband to Aniston either while they were married, which added to the emotional impact of it.
"He apologized to Jen for being an absentee husband, for being stoned and bored much of the time," the source said. "He also made amends for leaving her for Angelina."
The source maintained that while the apology was welcomed, it brought back a lot of the hurt from their painful 2005 split, which was punctuated by Pitt publicly moving on with Jolie soon afterwards.
"Jen was overcome with emotion. All the hurt feelings and resentment she'd suppressed for years came flooding to the surface, and she broke down in tears," the source claimed.
There have been no reports denying the apology, though it isn't the first time Pitt has reportedly made an alleged one to his long-ago ex. Life and Style claimed back in June that Pitt, who was living a more sober lifestyle than he had been earlier, had reached out to Aniston to apologize for all the pain and heartbreak he had caused her.
"Brad apologized for all the heartbreak," a source reportedly said at the time. "He doesn't usually open up like that, but through therapy and recovery, he's learned to express his feelings. He addresses all the hurt he caused her. She was incredibly receptive to the amends he was making. She told him she forgives him and to focus on the future. She actually vowed to start over with him as a genuine friend."
That report was later refuted by Gossip Cop, which claimed it was a recycled story that had been circulated throughout the years, as an attempt to link the former spouses back to one another.
The latest claim of an apology to Aniston comes after a report in August which claimed that Pitt and Jolie were calling off their divorce, citing that they hadn't proceeded with things in a while.
"The divorce is off," a source claimed at the time. "They haven't done anything to move it forward in several months and no one thinks they are ever going to."
The source also claimed and added that Jolie was still in love with Pitt and wanted to rekindle their romance, stating she was "still so in love with him."
