Two men were arrested in Southern California on Wednesday in connection to the murder of a 73-year-old Hawaii homeowner, who had been found dead in a bathtub filled with concrete.

The Honolulu Police Department said Juan Tejedor Baron, 23, and Scott Hannon, 34, were apprehended by U.S. Marshals and the Los Angeles Police Department. Baron reportedly had a relationship with the victim, who was identified as Gary Ruby.

They are both being held at the Los Angeles Police Department Metropolitan Detention Center and are being sought on second-degree murder charges.

“Officers were sent to conduct a welfare check at the victim’s residence,” the Honolulu Police Department said in a statement.

“A missing person case was opened. Later that day, detectives spoke with a male, 23, who claimed to be in a relationship with the victim and reside at the residence. The male allowed detectives to search the home, but the victim was not located. While at the home, detectives observed that there was a bathroom tub filled with a concrete-type substance,” the police department said.

Honolulu Police reported that the two men left the home after detectives finished their search and saw the concrete, "they also saw the first male leave the home with a second male, 34."

Later in the afternoon police said that, “a body believed to be that of the victim, was recovered from the bathroom tub. The two male suspects are considered dangerous.”

U.S. Marshals and Los Angeles Police arrested Baron, who was hiding on a Greyhound bus that was bound for Mexico from Anaheim, California, in Orange County.

"Baron was found hiding in a crawl space under an enclosed bench at the rear of the bus. Baron had pulled back a metal plate near the bus’s rear bathroom and crawled under the enclosed bench seat,” Honolulu Police said in the statement.

Harron was arrested shortly after by Los Angeles Police while driving in Inglewood, a suburb of Los Angeles.
