HBO Max Drops Free 10-Minute Preview Of 'The Batman' [Watch]
The opening scene of the record-breaking DC movie "The Batman" is now available on YouTube for free. HBO Max dropped the 10-minute preview Tuesday, the same day the film premiered on its own streaming platform.
The scene starts with someone looking at a family through the window across the street. The family — which consists of a father, a mother and a son — seems to be living a peaceful life. But as the scene unfolds, viewers eventually learn that the dad gets killed by a mystery man.
Later in the video, a group of men can be seen trying to hurt a person who just stepped out of the train. This scene marks the entrance of Batman who saves the person by beating the men.
"Watch this exclusive clip of the opening scene of The Batman where Gotham begins to learn the meaning of vengeance," HBO Max wrote in the description. "The Batman is now streaming via HBO on HBO Max."
Fans in the comments section couldn't stop gushing over the movie, which hit the theaters on March 4.
"Hands down the best depiction of Batman in live-action. His introduction sets it up and the finale capitalizes on it. Such a beautiful film," one of them noted. Meanwhile, another fan commented, "I swear Pattinson has the best Batman voice. That opening monologue was pure greatness."
Directed by Matt Reeves, the new film stars Robert Pattinson as Batman and Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman. It also features Paul Dano, Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Andy Serkis and Barry Keoghan.
Batman debuted in "Detective Comics No. 27" on March 30, 1939. Due to the success of the character's appearances in the comics, an eponymous spin-off title was launched in the spring of 1940.
Besides "The Batman," DC is also set to release "DC's League of Super-Pets" this year. Featuring the voices of stars like Dwayne Johnson, John Krasinski, Kevin Hart and Vanessa Bayer, the animated movie is premiering on July 29.
The production company is also dropping "Black Adam" and "Shazam! Fury of the Gods" on Oct. 21 and Dec. 16, respectively.
