HBO's 'Tiger' Reviews Have Fans Questioning If They Should Watch Documentary
HBO’s two-part sports documentary series of “Tiger” has some fans of Tiger Woods questioning if they’ll even watch it. The documentary focuses both on Woods' golf accomplishments and his trials and tribulations in his personal life.
The documentary has drawn comparisons to the documentary on Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls in "The Last Dance." But in "Tiger" the five-time Masters champion won’t even be heard from in this documentary.
It’s instead told from the perspective of his former caddy Steve Williams, alleged mistress Rachel Uchitel, golf legend Nick Faldo, various journalists and different family members, according to HBO.
Uchitel drew attention in 2009 after the National Enquirer reported on an alleged affair with Woods. The series will go in-depth about this large downfall of his life and something that changed some people's outlook on him from there on out.
There has been a mixed reaction ahead of the documentary's release.
Hearing the HBO documentary seeks not to highlight the great Tiger Woods & all that he’s given to the people of earth, but rather to serve as a vicious attack on a resilient sports icon’s character. In light of this, and to respect Mr. Woods, I will not be watching. Thank you. pic.twitter.com/go1ADJSJaw

Others are following his suit in deciding to not watch it.

I was so excited to watch the Tiger Woods documentary, but now after reading that it’s a complete attack on only the negative parts of his career and it fails to celebrate his comeback story, I’m sad. One of, if not, the greatest athlete deserves better! Be better @HBO #TigerHBO

On the other hand, some fans are excited to watch it and have already marked it on their calendars.
Just finished reading “Tiger Woods,” a 2018 biography of @TigerWoods written by Jeff Benedict and @ArmenKeteyian. Looking forward to the future @HBO documentary coming out in the new year.
