'Hearthstone: Journey To Un'Goro' Release Time: When Can You Start Opening Your Dinosaur Packs?
Today is the day: Hearthstone’s new expansion, Journey To Un’Goro, will finally be released into the world. Blizzard hasn't given fans an exact time when they can expect the expansion, but we have a good idea, based on past releases.
We estimate 'Hearthstone: Journey To Un’Goro' will debut in North America around 1 to 2 p.m. EST. This is a guess, Blizzard tends to release stuff at weird times. We'd also expect European fans will have to have to wait an extra six hours to play the new 135-card expansion, judging from past releases.
UPDATE 1:40 p.m. EST: 'Hearthstone: Journey To Un’Goro' is now live, but glitchy servers mean players should avoid opening their packs.
We’ve examined every card coming out of the jungle with a microscope, (im)patiently waiting by the computer for the chance to rip open all 105 virtual card packs. There’s still a few more hours to wait, and we’ve been staring at this countdown, hoping we could somehow find the ability to bend time and make my Elemental Shaman deck a little bit faster.
In the meantime, you can play the new Tavern Brawl, “Masked Ball,’ or stare at your golden Volcanosaur and dream about the cards on their way. Journey To Un’Goro will be the set that defines the meta for the next six months, so it’s important to take decklists you see at launch with a grain of salt. Don’t go and craft a golden version of the Legendary every streamer is claiming is overpowered and then end up with a useless deck and no dust.
We will be tracking the meta over the next few months, chronicling deck lists and examining strategies and the inevitable broken card interactions. Now if you’ll excuse us, we're going to go back to staring at this countdown our my eyeballs melt (or at least until we can Adapt Gavaldon five times.)
