Heather Rae Young is sharing the joy of being a first-time mom with her followers.
After welcoming her first child, a son, with husband Tarek El Moussa Tuesday, the "Selling Sunset" star, 35, posted an update on her first days of motherhood via her Instagram Stories Saturday, Us Weekly reported.
In the snap, the real estate agent can be seen sitting on a couch while breastfeeding her newborn. Her son, whose name has not yet been publicly revealed, is wearing a salmon-colored cap and is wrapped in a star-patterned blanket.
"I've never been this exhausted, but also this happy in my whole life," Young wrote in the caption.
Young and El Moussa — who wed in October 2021 — released a joint statement via Instagram Thursday announcing the arrival of their first child together. They also shared the first picture of their son without showing his whole face.
"Mama & baby are happy, healthy, tired but doing well. Our hearts are so happy," they wrote in the caption.
Young revealed last year that they were in the middle of in vitro fertilization treatments and were scheduled to transfer an embryo when they learned that she was pregnant.
"It was a huge shock," she told People in July 2022 of learning she was pregnant. "We just weren't expecting this. We had just gone through IVF. We had embryos on ice. We had a plan."
She added, "I think when you least expect it and there's no stress in your life, the world just brought us what was meant to be. I'm so excited that it happened like this."
The couple admitted that they initially had no plans to have kids. El Moussa was already a dad of two before he met Young. He shares two kids, daughter Taylor, 12, and son Brayden, 7, with ex-wife Christina Hall.
But Young said that being a stepmom and seeing how wonderful El Moussa was as a dad helped change her mind about having children.
"But as your love grows more and more and you fall deeper in love with someone and you build this life together, I started picturing myself having a child with Tarek," she explained to People. "I started thinking I just wanted to create something with the man that I'm in love with."
