Henry Bolton, Jo Marney Spotted Together Amid Meghan Markle Racist Comments
Henry Bolton and Jo Marney may no longer be officially together, but the couple was spotted canoodling days after their highly-publicized split.
According to Fox News, the UKIP leader and Marney went on a romantic date together on Thursday night. The ex-couple was also photographed taking the Tube and getting off a stop where Bolton resides.
Bolton confirmed that he and Marney are no longer together on Monday after the 25-year-old model was suspended from UKIP due to her racist texts about Meghan Markle.
While speaking with BBC Radio 4’s program (via The Guardian), Bolton said, “The romantic element of the relationship is over, I’m afraid, as of last night.” Marney’s text messages to her male friend were first published online via the Daily Mail. In the texts, the model called Prince Harry’s fiancée a “dumb little commoner” and said that she is someone obsessed with race.
Marney has since apologized for her racist comments and said that they were taken out of context. “I apologize unreservedly for the shocking language I used. The opinions I expressed were deliberately exaggerated in order to make a point and have, to an extent, been taken out of context,” she said.
Meanwhile, Markle has not yet responded to the controversial comments of Marney, and she most likely does not intend to. Bolton said that even though Marney’s statements were appalling, he is certain that those are not her core beliefs.
“I’ll be entirely honest, however appalling and insulting those comments that they made in those direct, personal messages are, I honestly don’t believe that those are her core beliefs… I’m going to stand by her and her family in terms of trying to put her life back together. This is not a cold parting of the ways,” Bolton said.
As such, it’s possible that Marney and Bolton reunited recently only as friends. The couple started dating around Christmas time and after the 52-year-old dad of two left his wife, Tatiana Smurova-Bolton.
