More details are coming to light in the fatal car crash that led to NFL receiver Henry Ruggs’ DUI arrest. Ruggs was driving more than 110 mph above the speed limit right before the accident that left one woman dead, and he refused to take a sobriety test when police arrived, according to reports.

According to Chief Deputy District Attorney Eric Bauman, Ruggs’ vehicle was moving at 156 mph two seconds before the crash, and it was determined that the car was going 127 mph when the airbags deployed. Both 23-year-old Tina Tintor and her dog were killed after her Toyota Rav4 caught fire in the crash with Ruggs’ Corvette.

Bauman said Ruggs was “argumentative and uncooperative” with cops on the scene. Blood was drawn from Ruggs at the hospital nearly two hours after the accident.

“As I spoke with Ruggs I asked if he would open his eyes,” the investigating officer wrote in the police report, according to KLAS, a CBS affiliate in Las Vegas. “At that time, Ruggs refused to answer any questions nor cooperate by opening his eyes.”

The officer wrote that Ruggs’ speech was slurred, telling police that he was headed home at the time of the crash. Ruggs’ blood alcohol level was 0.16 percent, which is twice the legal limit.

The 22-year-old and his girlfriend, who was also in the car at the time of the crash, spent the night at TopGolf Las Vegas before going to a friend’s house. The couple was seen drinking mai tais, according to videos posted on social media.

Ruggs was in a wheelchair and wearing a neck brace Wednesday at his court appearance. He was released by the Las Vegas Raiders hours after his arrest.
