Streaming giant Netflix has revealed the original movies that have been watched the most number of times on its platform.

Based on the list obtained by Bloomberg, Chris Hemsworth’s “Extraction” has claimed the numero uno position among the most-watched original titles on Netflix. The movie beat the other nine titles acter accumulating 99 million views.

“Extraction” chronicles the journey of Tyler Rake (Hemsworth), a mercenary who has taken up a new mission to extract the 14-year-old son of an imprisoned Indian drug lord played by Pankaj Tripathi. The boy, named Ovi Mahajan Jr., has been kidnapped and taken to Bangladesh. But things take a different turn when Rake finds out that the boy’s father is playing with him and has sent one more mercenary named Saju (Randeep Hooda) to save the boy.

The movie received positive reviews and critics praised the film for its hi-octane action sequences.

Meanwhile, “Bird Box” claimed the second spot. The thriller starring Sandra Bullock in the lead role was one of the first movies on Netflix that enjoyed huge success despite getting mixed reviews. The movie was viewed 89 million times on the platform.

Martin Scorsese’s “The Irishman” turned out to be the sixth most-watched film on Netflix. The crime epic movie was viewed 64 million times, and it was one of the best-reviewed films of 2019. The film went on to earn 10 nominations at the 92nd Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

“The Irishman” currently holds a score of 96% on review site Rotten Tomatoes.

Other movies that were included on the list were “6 Underground,” “Murder Mystery,” “Triple Frontier” and “The Wrong Missy.” Interestingly, all the movies that made it to the list were released in the last 12 months.
