‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’ Star Anna Cardwell Suing Mama June Shannon For Owed Wages

The drama between Anna Cardwell, better known as Chickadee, and Mama June Shannon continues. The two former “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” reality stars have been feuding over money since November 2014, shortly after the series was canceled. Their disagreement began after Cardwell claimed her mother had stolen money from her trust fund to give to ex-boyfriend, convicted sex offender Mark McDaniel.

Now, the 20-year-old is suing her mother for what she claims are unpaid wages. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cardwell is demanding that she be paid $201,800 for appearing on “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.” She is also reportedly seeking $99,500 for her 2-year-old daughter Kaitlyn. The lawsuit also takes aim at TLC, claiming that the network failed to ensure that both she and her child received the payment they were promised.

Shannon is said to be prepared to pursue legal action of her own, though it is not her daughter she wants to go after. The 35-year-old reportedly believes her mother, Sandra Hale, and her boyfriend pushed Cardwell to file the lawsuit. According to TMZ, Cardwell sent a text message to another unnamed member of the family saying she “did not hire the lawyer.” Another message, exchanged between the mother-daughter duo, states that Cardwell “never really talked to [the lawyer]” as she was kicked out of the room by Hale’s beau.

Regardless of who’s behind the lawsuit, Shannon claims Cardwell was paid by TLC directly. She told previously told TMZ her daughter’s claims were completely “ridiculous” adding that she gave Cardwell a check for $15,400 in December 2014. Shannon said the check was the full amount she was owed from the money the family received in the wake of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’s” cancellation.

The show was taken off the air in October 2014, shortly after news broke that Mama June had been spotted spending time with McDaniel. It was widely believed that she was dating the ex-con, who had just gotten done serving a 10-year prison sentence. Mama June continues to deny that they were romantically involved at the time.

TLC has chosen not to address Cardwell’s lawsuit against her mother.
