'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo' Star Mama June Beams With Pride As Daughter Jessica 'Chubbs' Graduates High School
Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon has became the first in the Thompson family to graduate high school. The former co-star of TLC reality series “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” smiled for pictures with the entire Thompson family Saturday during the ceremony. She posed in a yellow cap and gown alongside mother “Mama June” Shannon and sisters Alana “Honey Boo Boo," Laryn “Pumpkin” and Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell. Her unofficial stepdad, Mike “Sugar Bear," was also present.
Jessica graduated from Wilkinson County High School. “She made it,” Mama June, 35, wrote on her Facebook page Saturday. She added that she was “so proud of Jessica first one to graduate,” hashtagging #proudmama #wilcohigh #2k15graduation #emotional.
Mama June revealed Jessica will be going to South Georgia State College in Douglas to attend nursing school.
Anna, 20, the eldest of the Thompson sisters, revealed in January that she never graduated from high school and is still in the process of obtaining her GED. She also expressed her excitement for Jessica. “Proud that my sister graduated and soon going to college to be a nurse,” Anna wrote on Facebook following the graduation, adding she “hope[s] she does great."
Mama June is still fighting with cable network channel TLC over the cancellation of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” last year, TMZ reported Saturday. The reality series was canceled when a photo surfaced of Mama June posing with convicted child molester Mark Anthony McDaniel Sr. a man she was reportedly dating. McDaniel was convicted of aggravated child molestation of an 8-year-old in March 2004. It was later revealed the victim was June’s daughter, Anna.
