Prince William and Prince Harry will commemorate the 25th death anniversary of their mother Princess Diana Wednesday "privately and separately," according to a report.
The Duke of Cambridge, 40, and the Duke of Sussex, 37, "agreed to draw a line under their public commemorations" and plan to honor the late Princess of Wales, who died at age 36 in a car crash in Paris on Aug. 31, 1997, with their own wives and children at their homes, The Telegraph reported.
Unnamed friends of each brother separately told the outlet that Prince William and Prince Harry will mark the anniversary Wednesday by talking about "granny" with their young children, none of whom were able to meet Princess Diana.
A spokesman for Kensington Palace and a spokeswoman for the Sussexes separately confirmed that this year's anniversary would be spent privately, according to the outlet.
Last week, Prince Harry appeared to reveal his plan to spend the 25th anniversary of Princess Diana's death privately with his family in California while giving a speech at a benefit dinner for his charity Sentebale, which he co-founded in memory of his late mother.
"I want it to be a day filled with memories of her incredible work and love for the way she did it," he said. "I want it to be a day to share the spirit of my mum with my family, with my children, [whom] I wish could have met her."
During their mother's 20th death anniversary in 2017, the royal brothers undertook public commemorations in her name, including creating a memorial garden at Kensington Palace. They also commissioned a statue of Princess Diana, which was unveiled last year.
In 2017, Prince William and Prince Harry also opted to speak extensively about their mother's charity work, according to The Telegraph.
A spokesman for Kensington Palace said at the time that the brothers intended to celebrate their mother's legacy in a "positive way."
"The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry very much want to show their gratitude to the public for their continued celebration of their mother's memory," said the spokesman.
The 20th death anniversary would be the last milestone anniversary Prince Harry and Prince William would mark in public, and the brothers will continue to grieve privately in the future, according to the outlet.
Prince William, his wife Kate Middleton and their three children 9-year-old Prince George, 7-year-old Princess Charlotte and 4-year-old Prince Louis will soon start their new lives at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, near Queen Elizabeth II's residence, Windsor Castle, The Telegraph reported.
Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, who share 3-year-old son Archie and 1-year-old daughter Lilibet, will return to the U.K. next month for a series of charitable events and will stay at Frogmore Cottage, which is only minutes away from the Cambridges' reported new home.
