The movie “Hidden Figures” has not only received positive reviews and Golden Globe nominations but it has also inspired young people to get up and do something to better themselves and those around them.

Cast member Taraji P. Henson couldn’t help but spotlight one act after learning that one teen raised money just so other girls could go see the film. The actress posted a photo of the girl on Instagram Wednesday morning.

“This is how IMPORTANT AND IMPACTFUL #HiddenFigures is!!!” the actress wrote.

Henson went on to praise the young girl who raised the money, as well as the women that inspired the film. “This film, THESE AMAZING WOMEN’S LEGACIES are bigger than us ALL. So join the rest of us and #BeInspired go see #hiddenfigures it’s playing EVERYWHERE (domestically),” the “Empire” actress wrote.

The money was raised by a 13-year-old girl named Taylor Richardson, who is an aspiring astronaut. The teen created the Go Fund Me page asking for donations with the goal of raising $2,600.

The amount of money was expected to provide movie tickets, drinks, snacks and the book “Hidden Figures: The American Dream and the Untold Story of the Black Women Mathematicians Who Helped Win the Space Race.”

However, since creating the fundraiser on Dec. 31 after being inspired by the film, which she saw at the White House, the teen has managed to raise an additional $10,000.

On Tuesday night, fellow cast member Janelle Monáe also praised the movie and the impact it has made. “You guys started a movement that has not stopped I am thankful to be apart of something bigger than me. We are forever thankful to you,” the singer tweeted.

It was previously reported that the movie snagged the No. 1 spot at the box office following its release, something that the cast was very proud about.
