A new luxury Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts will be opened in the heart of central Amsterdam, the leading global hospitality company has announced.
A luxury brand of landmark hotels by Hilton Worldwide, the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam will be near the recently declared UNESCO World Heritage site. It will be created by combining six historic canal-side buildings.
The hotel will be nestled amongst 17th and 18th century row houses, alongside one of Amsterdam's most well-known canals, Herengracht. Its proximity to Amsterdam's business district will make it ideal for corporate travelers seeking a premium luxury experience. Leisure travelers visiting The Netherland's capital city will find the hotel near to historic sites, museums, shops, and cafes.
Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam will be an exquisite asset to our brand when it opens in 2013, said John Vanderslice, global head of luxury and lifestyle brands at Hilton Worldwide.
The luxury retreat will have 94 guestrooms and will feature a range of elegant food and beverage experiences, including a destination restaurant and bar. A stunning 500 square meter health club and spa would see guests of Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam enjoy a luxurious experience offering true Waldorf service in one of the world's most magical locations, said the company.
Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam will also offer 400 square meters of state-of-the-art meeting and conference space, including a courtyard garden.
Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts are present across more than 20 landmark destinations around the globe, each inspired by the Waldorf-Astoria New York.
Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam will be the luxury brand's seventh hotel to open in Europe, reflecting its continued international expansion, joining Rome Cavalieri, Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts; Trianon Palace Versailles, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel and London Syon Park, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
The company plans for further expansion in Europe with new properties are due to open next year in Berlin, Edinburgh and Jerusalem.
