  • The Reds are scheduled to play at least eight games in April
  • Jurgen Klopp has said his side is used to the intensity

Liverpool FC and Manchester City are set to face off against each other twice in a span of a week in April.

The two sides won their respective quarter-final fixture in the FA Cup on Sunday. Liverpool edged past Nottingham Forest 1-0. Man City thrashed Southampton 4-1 to set up a fiery semi-final clash with arch-rivals Liverpool at Wembley.

With the victory over Nottingham Forest at City Ground, Liverpool have kept alive their hopes of achieving something that's never been done before – winning a quadruple. The Reds are very much in the race to win four trophies this season: FA Cup, Champions League, Premier League, while they have already secured the League Cup, their record ninth trophy in the competition.

Liverpool are scheduled to play at least eight games in a span of 28 days when they return from the international break. After hosting Watford in the Premier League on April 2, Jurgen Klopp's side will resume their Champions League campaign as they travel to Portugal to take on Benfica in their quarter-final first leg on April 5.

Five days later, Liverpool will make the all-important trip to Manchester to lock horns with Pep Guardiola's City in the Premier League. After 29 games, the Reds are just a point behind table-toppers Man City in the league this season. These two sides will meet again the following week at Wembley for the FA Cup semis.

Liverpool are unbeaten in 10 league games, while they have triumphed in their last five matches. Man City have managed only three victories in their last five games in the Premier League.

The remaining three fixtures of Liverpool in April are also high-profile games as the Reds face Manchester United (April 20), Everton (April 24) and Newcastle (April 30).

In a post-match interview, after Diogo Jota's goal helped Liverpool beat Nottingham Forest, Klopp said his players are used to the intensity, referring to the upcoming hectic month.

"We only have big weeks if I'm 100 percent honest. We have Watford, Benfica, City… Benfica, City, United, and Everton. There's a lot coming up but that's why we do all the things we do – to be in decisive moments, to be in very interesting positions and that's what we are in at the moment. We don't have anything yet but we have our hand in all big decisions at the moment," Klopp told talkSport.
