Following the escapades of US Attorney Chuck Rhoades and hedge fund manager Bobby “Axe” Axelrod, “Billions” is diving headfirst into a whole new season of financial twists and political turns.

After being handed a victory in what could have been a debilitating copyright infringement lawsuit, “Billions” now returns for Season 5, and will once again see Chuck, played by Paul Giamatti, and Axe, portrayed by Damian Lewis, going face-to-face after a season-long repose.

Despite the fact that the woman who filed the complaint, Denise Shull, plans to appeal the verdict, the show has already begun filming its latest season at Whiteface Mountain Ski Center, and the ski resort's general manager only seems to have positive things to say about the experience.

“They were great people to work with. It helps to support putting people in beds and getting people into the area when the tourist season is mostly over,” Aaron Kellett said about the crew's visit.

Lewis, who portrays the savvy and wealthy investment head of Axe Capital, even took to Twitter in showcasing the splendor of the area.

Most of the filming took place inside the ski center itself, but also along Veterans Memorial Highway. It’s unclear what exactly the scenes were of or, for that matter, what this newest season will overall entail. With its previous season wrapping up on a somewhat sour note, with Giamatti’s Rhoades growing irritated with his involvement in Axe’s schemes, a variety of inevitable possibilities remain on the table.

This would be the second show to film in the region and at the resort itself in recent months, after the HBO series “Succession,” also took advantage of the natural scenery.

Season 5 of “Billions” airs in Spring 2020.
