Honor 8 Android 7.0 Nougat Update Confirmed For February 2017
The Honor 8 smartphone will jump on the Android 7.0 Nougat bandwagon come February, Huawei confirmed Thursday. The update will come with Huawei’s EMUI 5.0 custom user interface in tow.
The manufacturer highlighted many of the EMUI 5.0 features users can expect upon update, including the ability to remove the app drawer for more screen real estate, the ability to run several user profiles simultaneously and machine learning, which studies users patterns navigating their device to optimize how the device runs, among many others. The Honor 8 is currently being beta tested for Android 7.0.
The Honor 8 features a 5.2-inch Full HD display, a HiSilicon Kirin 950 chip, 4GB of RAM and 32GB and 64GB internal storage options, a 12-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front camera, USB Type-C and a 3,000 mAH battery.
The Honor 8 currently runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
