The Olympics are comprised of the best female athletes in the world.

While many are known for just their achievements in the sport that they compete, others are also known for their looks. Many members of the U.S. soccer team became famous last year because of both their beauty and the team's run in the World Cup.

Even athletes who don't have much of a chance of earning a medal can gain notoriety because of appearance.

In 2008, Michael Phelps won eight gold medals and was the most-searched Olympian, according to Yahoo. Paraguayan javelin thrower Leryn Franco was second on the list, even though she did not come close to winning a medal.
