How To Buy Hot 97 Summer Jam 2017 Tickets: Lineup And Date Announced
Taking place on June 11, Hot 97 hopes to have another memorable Summer Jam concert when a lineup featuring Chris Brown, DJ Khaled, Fat Joe, Migos and more take the stage.
Announced on Tuesday, tickets for Summer Jam 2017 will go on sale April 28 at 12 p.m. EDT and can be purchased at Ticketmaster or at the box office. Taking place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, the festival will kick off at 3 p.m. in the parking lot with the festival stage.
The festival stage — known for its up-and-coming stars — will include performances from A Boogie, Don Q, Young M.A, Dave East, D.R.A.M., Lil Yachty, PnB Rock, Casanova and Phresher. Following the festival stage performance, the big stars, including Migos, Trey Songz, French Montana, Tory Lanez, Jidenna and Joey Bada$$ will hit the stadium stage.
But the highlight of the lineup is what’s being billed as “Faith Evans presents 20 years of B.I.G.” Celebrating the life of the late Notorious B.I.G., it’s expected that Evans will have a number of surprise guests hit the stage with her.
First started in 1994, the annual hip-hop festival has recently been plagued by violent incidents. Last year, 35 people were arrested after a fight broke out in the floor seats section and chairs were thrown around. In 2015, police ended up fighting with the crowd after some people tried to get into the venue without tickets.
Although the festival continues to have its issues, Lt. Brian Polite of the New Jersey State Police Department said the number of arrests in 2016 was down from 2015. “There were 35 arrests at [2016] Summer Jam, which is significantly lower than [2015’s] count,” he told Billboard.
“Most of the arrests were largely due to offenses typical of a large concert or sporting event such as soliciting without a license, or selling without a permit, and disorderly conduct,” he added. 61 people were arrested at Summer Jam in 2015.
