He will be the next King of England and his wife will be his consort, but despite all the negative press that has surrounded their controversial relationship, it is being reported that Camilla Parker Bowles may have a positive influence on Prince Charles when he becomes king.

In the 2017 book “The Duchess: The Untold Story,” biographer Penny Junor wrote that Camilla, who married Prince Charles in 2005 after their affair was first outed during his marriage to Princess Diana, would have a positive impact on her husband when he became King because she would help inspire him with confidence to do the job in a more emotional capacity.

“Intellectually, Charles will be the best-prepared heir who has ever ascended the throne,” she wrote. “But emotionally he is less robust. She will give him the strength and confidence to do the job.”

She also stated that he is “happy and fulfilled” with his wife now, versus the way he was during his marriage to Princess Diana, which in turn, would make him better as a royal.

“When the time comes, it will make him a confident capable and I believe much-loved King,” she added. “Without her, there might have been a very different outcome.”

“Her calmness, warmth, good humor and approachability—and her ability to be very tough when the occasion demands—are everything the nation could want in the uncertain years that will follow the death of such a popular and long-reigning Queen,” she said.

Of course, some still aren’t convinced that they would appreciate the Duchess of Cornwall as the Queen Consort, as she still faces criticism from the public. During recent Commonwealth Day services, some fans called out the Duchess for wearing an outfit that in a certain light, appeared to match the same shade of purple as Queen Elizabeth’s. Critics called the outfit choice “disrespectful” and said it seemed as though she was trying to prove she was “desperate to be Queen.”
