How Emma Watson Rocks 'The Bling Ring? Bad Girl Look [PHOTOS]
Gone is the properly prim Brit we all know as Emma Watson and in her place is a gaudy Los Angeles vixen for Sofia Coppola's new film, The Bling Ring.
The Bling Ring was a group of tech-savvy youngsters from Calabasas, Calif., who robbed the homes of mega-celebrities like Megan Fox, Paris Hilton, Orlando Bloom, Rachel Bilson, Lindsay Lohan and Ashley Tisdale between 2008 and 2009, according to the Daily Mail. The film is directed by Sofia Coppola.
Emma Watson's Nicki is a California bad girl whose mother, an ex-Playboy model played by Leslie Mann, pushes her and her sister to find fame. Nicki proceeds to burglarize celebrity homes with her group of friends, pawning the stolen designer items on the Venice boardwalk.
So how did Emma Watson transform her look into bad girl? Think temporary tattoos, hair extensions, Uggs and a whole lot of makeup.
In a newly-released promotional photo published on Entertainment Weekly, Emma Watson flaunts a white fur vest, black skinny jeans, leather stilettos, a Birkin bag and (her staple accessory) and an iced coffee.
As the Insider pointed out, The picture looks straight out of [MTV's] 'The Hills.' Vampy reality star lookalike, for sure.
The actress had to transform her look almost completely for the role. The typically demurely-styled starlet has been donning skimpier, racier outfits for the role of Nicki. Gone is her cute pixie cut, having been replaced by long brunette extensions. Dark locks draw out the bad-girl vibe. Denim shorts, stiletto heels, crop tops, short skirts and skin-tight pants make for a risqué look.
Earlier this month, Emma Watson tweeted a photo of herself decked out in full Bling Ring attires -- a pink tracksuit, Ugg boots and long dark chocolate extensions. She wrote to her followers: Twitterers meet Nicki, Nicki meet twitterers :), then Nicki likes Lip Gloss, Purses, Yoga, Pole Dancing, Uggs, Louboutins, Juice Cleanses, Iced coffee and Tattoos.
In April, the 22-year-old actress was photographed with a tramp stamp tattoo draw across her lower back wearing a bralette top, denim shorts, sunglasses and stiletto sandals. Fans were worried that their beloved Hermione Granger had gone and got inked. Luckily, it was revealed that the tramp stamp was temporary, along with other tattoos sketched on her arm and pelvis.
How did Emma Watson mentally prepare for her Bling Ring role? By watching Kim Kardashian, of course.
The star told Entertainment Weekly, I just watched a ton of reality TV. She added, I was doing an English course [at Brown University]. So I would go from reading Virginia Woolf to [watching] Kim Kardashian. I kind of loved it, this mix of superhigh and superlow culture. I think it was a nice balance.
