How Fans Have Reacted To George And Amal Clooney’s Twins

George and Amal Clooney officially became first-time parents on Tuesday morning, and the internet is having some hilarious reactions to the news.
A rep for the couple confirmed the news that they had welcomed twins on Tuesday, revealing the names of their two bundles of joy and joking at Clooney’s expense in the process.
“This morning Amal and George welcomed Ella and Alexander Clooney into their lives. Ella, Alexander and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing fine,” the rep said in a statement. “George is sedated and should recover in a few days.”

Following the news of the birth, fans took to social media to discuss the news, and there were some mixed feelings about it.
Some people flat-out admitted that they didn’t really care about the news, since they didn’t particularly care about George or Amal Clooney in general:

Some simply admitted that it was good to hear some positive news after several more negative headlines recently:
"George and Amal Clooney" Very happy news in a world filled with less than happy. Brings sunshine to our lives when needed most.

However, most had some funny responses in regards to the couple choosing names that were deemed relatively normal, compared to the several that are often heard when celebrities announce their children’s names:
I'm so glad George and Amal Clooney gave their twins normal names. Welcome to the word, Ella and Alexander!

George and Amal Clooney gave their children normal names. I'd expect nothing less of a human rights lawyer and her husband.

So refreshing to hear sensible baby names for once unlike the name "Bear". Classy choice of "Ella and Alexander" by George and Amal Clooney.

News about the Clooneys expecting twins has often been met with both jokes and serious comments. After the actor and human rights attorney announced they were expecting back in January, several of Clooney’s famous friends talked about his becoming a father for the first time, often referring back to his strict policy of never marrying or becoming a father until he met Amal.
“It wasn’t a question for many years—it was a total nonstarter,” Matt Damon told E! News. “But once he met [Amal] everything changed.”
Julia Roberts also discussed Clooney becoming a father, speaking of her own experience as a parent of twins. She told Ellen DeGeneres last month exactly what George and Amal could expect in their early days as they adjusted to a new life as parents.

“Also, you know, nobody’s there with you at 3 o’clock in the morning when you're just going, ‘What am I doing? Where did they come from and when are they going?’” she said. “And then you sort of, you get through it and you figure it out and everybody does and it’s a trial and error and a whole lot of tears and it’s amazing.”
As for how the new parents will raise their kids, they are reportedly choosing to keep them as far from the glare of the Hollywood spotlight as they can. The children were born in London, and earlier reports indicated that the two were planning to raise them in their home in that city for at least the first year of their lives. It wasn’t clear if they planned to enroll them in schools there in later years.
