How To Find Prince William, Kate Middleton On Twitter, Instagram After Name Change
New name, who's this? Kate Middleton and Prince William took a page out of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's book and changed their social media handles.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge did a little switch-a-roo on their Twitter and Instagram accounts recently. Both social media accounts bared the display name of "Kensington Palace" but now the name has been updated to reflect exactly who Kate 38, and William 37, exactly are -- "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge".
Although the future King and Queen of England updated the name there is no need to go out and follow a new Instagram or Twitter account because the actual handle remains the same -- @KensingtonRoyal.
Kate and William's tweak, though done for different reasons, comes about a month after Meghan and Harry's new name was leaked and subsequently confirmed.
The parents to 11-month-old Archie retired their old label as "Sussex Royal" shortly after officially completing their royal duties on March 31. The new name that they will be using moving forward was revealed to be Archewell. However, unlike Kate and William, Meghan and Harry are starting over with a brand new Instagram account.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their departure from the Instagram handle @SussexRoyal and revealed what's in store for them in a post on March 30.
"As we can all feel, the world at this moment seems extraordinarily fragile," they began. "Yet we are confident that every human being has the potential and opportunity to make a difference—as seen now across the globe, in our families, our communities and those on the front line—together we can lift each other up to realise the fullness of that promise."
"While you may not see us here, the work continues," the caption continued. "Thank you to this community - for the support, the inspiration and the shared commitment to the good in the world. We look forward to reconnecting with you soon. You’ve been great!"
"Until then, please take good care of yourselves, and of one another," they added.
