“How To Get Away With Murder” Season 1 will return with even more drama on Jan. 29. Now that the show is all caught up with the flash forwards, it’s time to deal with the consequences of killing Sam Keating (Tom Verica). Some students aren’t going to handle the stress of covering up a murder very well in the midseason premiere. New sneak peek videos show that Sam will be considered missing for the time being. After all, no one can say that they know he was killed without being implicated.

Sneak Peek No. 1

The students are divided once again. Connor (Jack Falahee) and Michaela (Aja Naomi King) are worried about being interviewed by the police, while Wes (Alfred Enoch) and Laurel (Karla Souza) remain calm and collected. Wes explains that it’s normal for them to be interviewed. “Because we work at her house. We need to stay calm, stick to the story,” he reasons.

“How do we know she’s not setting us up?” Connor asks. Connor is freaking out with hypothetical situations in his head. “What if one of us cracks? Hmm? Goes to the police and tries to get a lesser charge?”

“Then the rest of us will pin everything on that person,” Laurel explains. “It’s four against one, so don’t even try it.”

Annalise (Viola Davis) walks up to the house, and Connor says, “Mommy’s home.”

Sneak Peek No. 2

Annalise can’t tell anyone that she knows her husband is dead. She has to play it off as a missing persons case first, but that isn’t convincing D.A. Wendy Parks (Alysia Reiner). Parks comes to Annalise’s house to taunt her after she learns that the police are searching for Sam. She thinks it’s just a tactic to win Rebecca’s (Katie Findlay) murder trial.

“My condolences for your husband, Annalise,” Wendy says. “He’s been gone for how long now? Fifteen hours?”

“You think this is a game?” Annalise asks.

“I think you don’t like your odds in Rebecca’s trial, and this is how badly you need to win, even if it means throwing your own husband under the bus," Wendy says. "Why? Did he finally tell you he’s leaving you? Is this your version of a woman scorned?”

“I just found out that my husband was sleeping with a young woman who was killed and you have the audacity to come in here and mock me? Get out now or I’ll throw you out,” Annalise threatens.

Wendy claims that Sam didn’t kill Lila Stanguard (Megan West). Rebecca and Griffin (Lenny Platt) were the murderers, and she will prove it.
