'How To Get Away With Murder' Season 2 Spoilers: The Keating Five Will Have An 'Existential Crisis,' Says Showrunner
Season 2 of ABC's hit series "How to Get Away With Murder" will be here before you know it. At present, little is known about what's in store for Wes (Alfred Enoch), Laurel (Karla Souza), Asher (Matt McGorry) and the rest of Annalise Keating's (Viola Davis) students, but one this is for sure: it's going to be good. With less than two weeks until the “HTGAWM” premiere showrunner Pete Nowalk is speaking out about the sophmore installment and cluing fans in as to what they should expect from Season 2.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Nowalk says Season 2 will be full of twists and turns. He’s promises fans that they’ll see Annalise and her five star students, dubbed the Keating five, battling with a sort of “existential crisis.” Nowalk told the publication that she and her students, who murdered and hid the body of her husband Sam Keating (Tom Verica) in Season 1, will struggle to come to terms with their mounting guilt.
“What we’ve come up with for season two -- and there’s so much -- I hope people are going to be excited about the new mysteries we introduce,” he says. “The high-stakes situation they’ve been put in -- will they get away with Sam’s murder? -- is going to to affect their future decisions in that they’re going to make even riskier decisions.”
The network has finally unveiled the Season 2 trailer and, as Nowalk said, there’s no shortage of drama. The short clip teases rifts among the Keating five, Annalise’s own personal struggles with what’s happened and a major reveal: who killed Rebecca (Katie Findlay)? Check out the 30-second trailer below:
As we previously reported, Rebecca’s killer will be revealed early in the season. Entertainment Weekly reported that that information will come to light in the show’s highly anticipated premiere. The publication did not, however, divulge any clues as to who may have done it.
“HTGAWM” returns Thursday, Sept. 24, at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC. Be sure to tune in.
