‘How To Get Away With Murder’ Season 4: Which Characters Will Return?
“How To Get Away With Murder” Season 4 will delve into the mystery surrounding the death of Wes Gibbons (Alfred Enoch). To do this, Esai Morales and Benito Martinez will return in a recurring capacity and reprise their roles as Jorge Castillo and Todd Denver, respectively.
Executive producer Pete Nowalk told Entertainment Weekly that Laurel’s (Karla Souza) dad Jorge will return so that they can answer the biggest question left hanging from Season 3: Why kill Wes?

“That’s definitely a major answer that we have to give to the audience, which is why did Jorge order Wes to be killed?” he said. “That is a major thrust of our season, because the question is: Is Laurel going to find out? And then what does she do about it? That backstory is the spine of our season.”
As for Denver, fans will discover how he is connected to Jorge. On the other hand, Nowalk said Jorge’s friend Dominic (Nicholas Gonzales) - the one who actually killed Wes on Jorge’s orders - might only have a minimal role next season. This is because of Gonzales’ busy schedule with the ABC project, “The Good Doctor.”
“There’s a good chance we’ll get to see him,” Nowalk said. “These are all the exact questions we want you to be asking as we come back, like why did Jorge kill Wes, what was Denver’s involvement, who is Dominic to Laurel? By the end of the season — probably earlier than that — we’ll have answered all those questions.”
Meanwhile, Viola Davis’ husband Julius Tennon will also join the cast next season. According to Deadline, Tennon has so far been booked for only one episode.
Tennon will be joining “NYPD Blue” alum Jimmy Smits, since The Hollywood Reporter said that Smits has booked a major recurring role and will be playing a prominent figure in the life of Annalise Keating (Davis). His character will also have an integral role in the fourth season mystery.
“How to Get Away with Murder” will return on Sept. 28 at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC.
