How To Get Coachella Tickets: It's Not Too Late To Purchase 2017 Festival Passes

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival officially released its musical lineup for this year’s festival Tuesday and the race is on to secure tickets before they run out. Passes go on sale Wednesday starting at 11 a.m. PST, and they usually don’t last long.

The popular music festival in Indio, California, lasts two weekends in April: the first from April 14 to 16 and the second from April 21 to 22. An array of different ticket types is available for one or both weekends through the official Coachella website. General admission tickets, the bare minimum, begin at $399. General admission tickets with shuttle transportation to the festival grounds start at $474. For those looking for the no-holds-barred full experience, a limited number of VIP tickets start at $899. VIP passes include access to the festival, parking lots and camping areas.

Separate tickets were also available for tent camping, car camping and rental teepees on Lake Eldorado. The official Coachella website advises that any ticket add-ons sell out quickly, so it’s best to purchase them with your ticket rather than wait. No refunds were available for any tickets purchased and the festival has been scheduled to take place both weekends, rain or shine.

Keepsake posters detailing the lineup were also available on the website alongside tickets and can be shipped directly to a residence for those who don’t want to carry them around the festival.

For anyone late to the party, reseller sites like eBay and StubHub usually carry tickets after the Coachella website sells out. However, those prices have typically been heavily marked up for profit.

Coachella broke records in 2015 when tickets for the festival sold out in a mere 40 minutes. The headliners in 2016 were LCD Soundsystem, Calvin Harris and Guns N’ Roses. With Beyonce, Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar as this year’s headliners, the tickets could possibly sell out even faster.
