'How I Met Your Father' Season 2: Release Date And First Look [Video]
Hilary Duff, who plays Sophie's character in the first season of "How I Met Your Father," announced that the second season of the show will drop on Jan. 24.
The 35-year-old actress shared a video Tuesday on Instagram announcing the release date with excitement. "I've been dying to tell you guys when season 2 of 'How I Met Your Father' premieres and they're finally letting me!" Duff said. "Season 2 premieres on Jan. 24 on Hulu. Let's go!"
In the video, Duff can be seen wearing a denim jacket with a white t-shirt and plaid skirt.
Aside from the announcement, the official Instagram handle of the show also shared a series of photos from the upcoming season. In the first photo, Duff and Francia Raisa can be seen laughing and looking at each other with Tien Tran and Josh Peck standing in the background.
In the next photo, Suraj Sharma and Chris Lowell were clicked during a conversation at a bar. In the third photo, Tran can be seen shaving Tom Ainsley's beard in a salon setup.
The first season of "How I Met Your Father" premiered on Hulu in January earlier this year. Despite the disappointing response to season one, the show has been renewed for another season which will also release on Hulu. The series will also feature Kim Cattrall, Ashley Reyes, Daniel Augustin and Stony Blyden.
The first season of the series revolves around Sophie's character, who tells her son how she met his father while living with her friends and navigating the single life in the age of dating apps.
Created by Elizabeth Berger and Isaac Aptaker, "How I Met Your Father" is a spin-off of the highly successful "How I Met Your Mother," which was first released in 2005 and the final episode aired in 2014.
"How I Met Your Mother" was created by Carter Bays and Craig Thomas and revolved around a father telling his kids how he met their mother with help of his best friends. It starred Neil Patrick Harris, Jason Segel, Josh Radnor, Cobie Smulders, Alyson Hannigan and Lyndsy Fonseca.
