‘How I Met Your Mother’ Season 9 Spoilers: Cast Tweets Set Photos, Arrival Of ‘Mother’ Cristin Milioti
“How I Met Your Mother” began filming earlier this week, and the cast and crew have wasted no time in tweeting some photos from set!
The CBS sitcom, which is going into its ninth and final season, teased fans on Monday that the cast was preparing for a table read of the premiere episode, “The Locket.” Now they’ve already jumped into filming … and posted some photos as proof.
On Wednesday, “How I Met Your Mother” co-creator Craig Thomas revealed that they were beginning to film the first scene of season nine, and even gave fans another highly anticipated look at the "mother,” Cristin Milioti. Unfortunately it wasn’t exactly what fans were looking for -- it was of her chair!
“How I Met Your Chair #HIMYM,” Thomas tweeted with the photo. Milioti’s set chair is featured on the right of her co-star and on-screen beau Josh Radnor (Ted Mosby).
Milioti was shown in the season-eight finale of “How I Met Your Mother,” but her character has yet to meet Ted. The actress will play a big part in the upcoming season as TVLine reported in May that she’ll be a series regular come the fall.
Thomas also tweeted a picture of an odd-looking character, posting: “Name that deep cut #HIMYM character! #HIMYMTrivia.”
The picture appears to have been taken at Robin and Barney’s wedding (which is rumored to be the “longest wedding weekend ever”) and shows a man in a wool patterned ski cap, suit and bow tie … and an accordion.
Fans seemed to be stumped by the trivia question, but one Twitter user nailed the ID of the character -- it’s Peculiar Jacques. For those who don’t remember, Peculiar Jacques is a (fictional) Canadian version of Weird Al. He’s first mentioned in “Noretta” in season seven when Robin tells Ted that Weird Al is just “a rip-off of Peculiar Jacques.”
We’re assuming that Peculiar Jacques will be making an appearance as one of the musicians at Barney and Robin’s wedding.
Lily’s Alyson Hannigan joined in on the Twitter-posting fun by tweeting a picture of the infamous apartment that Ted, Lily and Marshall used to live in. “We are back, but not in the apartment,” Hannigan teased.
Does that mean no more scenes in the old apartment? Or is Alyson Hannigan just trying to keep the fate of Lily and Marshall a secret? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section!
