‘How I Met Your Mother’ Season 9 Spoilers: Flashback And ‘Breaking Bad’ Star Bryan Cranston In Episode 9; What Will Happen In ‘Platonish’? [VIDEO]
Have you been complaining that the “How I Met Your Mother” wedding weekend has been dragging? Well the CBS sitcom is taking a break from the Farhampton drama! After episode 8 revealed how Ted proposed to Cristin Milioti’s “Mother” character in a flash-forward, episode 9 is going to show viewers a flashback.
“Platonish” is ditching the Farhampton Inn and the Lighthouse for a chance to transport “How I Met Your Mother” fans back to MacLaren’s pub and Marshall and Lily’s apartment. But as mentioned, the gang won’t be taking a day trip. Instead they’ll be reminiscing about the past (or possibly even imagining a different past).
According to the description for episode 9:
“The gang ponders the future of the Ted, Robin and Barney love triangle. Meanwhile, Barney accepts a series of challenges from Lily and Robin” – and they are challenges that involve him hitting on other women!
Thanks to a sneak peek of “Platonish” on SpoilerTV, fans can look forward to Barney attempting to pick up a girl wearing a garbage bag. “I’d be glad to,” he tells Lily. “Just hope she’s not too hefty. And those are all the brands of trash bags I can think of.”

But the challenge isn’t as simple as Barney wearing the trash bag. Lily adds that he also can’t use the letter “E.”
“Challng accptd,” Barney says, running off.
And Barney’s old pick-up tricks aren’t the only thing that “How I Met Your Mother” viewers can look forward to. Prepare for “BREAKING TED!” “Breaking Bad” star Bryan Cranston will be returning to the CBS comedy as Hammond Druthers, Ted’s former boss.
Episode 9 of “How I Met Your Mother” airs on CBS on Monday, Nov. 11 at 8 p.m. Watch the promo video below to see Bryan Cranston and let us know your thoughts on the upcoming episode.
