‘How I Met Your Mother’ Season 9 Spoilers: Is The Mother’s Death Theory Wrong? New Prediction On What Will Happen During The Series Finale
“How I Met Your Mother” has been toying with our heads and hearts ever since the hit CBS series made its debut in 2005. Nine years later, Carter Bays and Craig Thomas still manage to keep their devoted fans on the edges of the seats. But the time has finally come for the highly anticipated series finale to air on March 31. And while we’re certainly sad to say goodbye to our favorite gang, we have to admit we’re pretty ecstatic to find out what exactly will happen when the last episode of “HIMYM” airs.
Rumors have suggested that the Mother will be killed off before the end of the series finale. And although Cirstin Milioti had called that theory “crazy,” we actually think there’s some validity to it. Fans have scoured the Web looking for clues as to why they think the Mother will be dead by the end of the show. From Ted’s suspicious “Time Travelers” rant to his salty tears in “Vesuvius,” the protagonist made it seem very believable that his future wife’s life was dwindling.
Pam Fryman, the show’s director, went out on a limb to say that the theories fans have cooked up over the ninth season are missing a very important ingredient.
“People are so sure and they have such an opinion about what they think is going to happen, but nobody is 100 percent right," she said. "I think people will be happy with the way this plays out. It's a great ending."
So, if the Mother isn’t going to die during “Last Forever,” then why was Ted crying when Milioti’s character asked “what mother wouldn’t attend her daughter’s wedding?" According to TV Line, a new prediction is that Ted is actually the one who won’t be at his daughter’s wedding. Not in the physical sense—but mentally. Rumors are swirling around that Ted will be diagnosed with Alzheimer's, which is why he’s forced his children to sit down and listen to the story of how he met their mother.
Sounds plausible but if that was the case, then wouldn’t his children give him less lip about listening to the long tale? We know they’re teenagers, but rushing their dad seems harsh, no?
Josh Radnor teased fans with a one-word description of his last scene in “HIMYM,” calling Ted’s last moment on screen a “circle.” Could that be indicating Ted will end up single once again? Or does that just mean the last scene Ted will have is telling his children the story? What are your theories? Let us know in the comments section below and help predict what you think is going to happen during the series finale of “How I Met Your Mother.”
