Jennifer Lopez might be turning 50 soon, but her figure is better than ever.

Lopez puts in a lot of work in order to keep her body toned, and she recently amped up her training for her role as a stripper in the upcoming movie "Hustlers." For those who are eager to get rock hard abs and a toned body as well, check out some of Lopez's diet and exercise tips below, as compiled by Harper's Bazaar.

Diet

According to Lopez, it is important to stay hydrated and be well-rested, especially if you are doing a heavy workout. "Drinking plenty of water, especially before a workout, can help you push harder and get more out of your exercise routine," she told Hello! magazine.

As for her diet, Lopez makes sure to eat balanced and nutritious meals without any processed and refined foods.

"I have her eating very clean because she needs really good fuel for all the things that she's doing," her trainer Tracy Anderson told People. "It's all organic and it's all very well thought out, with the balance of very high-quality proteins and a lot of nutrient-dense food… everything is fresh."

The actress, who recently got engaged to partner Alex Rodriguez, also makes sure to include a lot of vegetables in her diet. Lopez apparently usually eats either salmon paired with a broccoli, zucchini and capsicum salad dressed in vinaigrette in the middle of the day. For dinner, Lopez usually eats a protein and quinoa.

Lopez also stays away from caffeine and alcohol as much as possible. Though she does drink coffee, she only drinks the decaffeinated ones. Lopez was also advised by nutritionist Haylie Pomroy to stop drinking alcohol completely.

Lopez also said that she has never starved herself to maintain her figure. Instead, she advised that it is better to eat foods that will keep you going for the whole day.

Exercise

When it comes to staying fit, Lopez loves working out and one of her favorite activities is dancing.

"Dance has always been a huge part of my life and taking the time to move my body and do something that's so good for me is key to my happiness," she told Hello! magazine. "And I really believe that when you take care of yourself and work to stay healthy, you're better able to take care of those you love. So working out is definitely a priority for me."

Lopez reportedly also likes to mix up her exercise routines and enjoys freestyle workouts. She usually focuses on her arms, butt, thighs and core.

If she wants a high-intensity workout, trainer David Kirsch said that he and Lopez do kickboxing, circuit training, lunges, burpees, ab workouts and HIIT routines.

As for how she maintains her famous booty, Lopez apparently does the "platypus walk," which Kirsch describes as "the quickest, most effective workout for your butt," Insider reported.
