How Jessica Simpson Lost The Baby Weight: Star Reveals Her Secret To Shedding 60 Pounds
Much has been said about Jessica Simpson's weight after she gained nearly 70 pounds during her pregnancy. But now, the new mother is showing off a svelte new figure and sharing her weight loss secrets with the world.
“After having the baby, I’ve had to really, really focus and start training,” Simpson told ABC's "Good Morning America" in September, four months after having baby Maxwell Drew Johnson.
Now, after six months of post-pregnancy dieting and training, 32-year-old Simpson was seen in photos over the weekend sporting dramatic weight loss: 60 of the 70 pounds she gained.
So how did she drop the weight in just six months?
Simpson told US Weekly it was all thanks to Weight Watchers' PointsPlus program and four-times-a-week training sessions with celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak.
According to ABC News, Pasternak trains Simpson along with other celebrities like Megan Fox and Jennifer Hudson, who also dropped a ton of weight this year. With bragging rights like a best-selling book, a masters of science in exercise physiology and nutritional sciences from the University of Toronto and a kinesiology degree from the University of Western Ontario, Pasternak is a coveted celebrity trainer.
Pasternak said she has a five phase workout plan to help shed the pounds. Phase one is Cardio Warm-Up. Phase two is Upper Body Strength Training. Phase three is Lower Body Strength Training. Phase four is Core Training and phase five is The Cardio Cool Down.
Simpson also lost much of the weight after signing on to become a Weight Watchers spokesperson, and has dramatically changed her died.
"She's so focused and determined," her Weight Watchers leader Liz Josefsberg told US Weekly. "She's very brave to do this in a healthy, more realistic way."
Jessica Simpson told ABC News she is determined to shed the final 10 pounds and will give up her favorite pregnancy food: macaroni and cheese.
