How Kate Middleton ‘Upstaged’ Meghan Markle At Archie’s Christening Amid Rumored Feud
Kate Middleton was recently accused of upstaging Meghan Markle at Archie’s christening on July 6.
On the online forum site Quora, royal fans said that the Duchess of Cambridge’s decision to wear jewelry from Princess Diana’s collection made it seem as though she was trying to upstage the Duchess of Sussex.
Graham Short, a resident of the United Kingdom, said that Markle must have been jealous of Middleton for wearing Princess Diana’s earrings to Archie’s christening. After all, she has been vocal about her fondness for jewelry.
“And remember, Harry said, ‘What Meghan wants, Meghan gets.’ But sadly for Meghan, she has been told she can’t have them… She must have been green with envy when she saw Kate wearing Diana’s earrings,” she wrote.
However, some royal fans also can’t believe how Middleton and Markle are once again pitted against each other. They said that there is no proof that the Duchess of Cambridge really wore Princess Diana’s earrings to Archie’s christening.
Additionally, Markle has never said that she’s jealous of Prince William’s wife and that Middleton deliberately tried to upstage her sister-in-law. In fact, a body language expert said that what happened at the royal baby’s baptism was the exact opposite.
While speaking with The Sun, body language expert Judi James said that the mom of three was determined to not upstage Prince Harry’s wife as reflected in the official christening photo.
“With a very relaxed and jolly-looking Camilla down one end of this pose, Kate sits at the other end looking oddly self-diminished and prim, with her arms pulled into her torso and a part-smile on her face. Given all the rift rumors, the rather ‘ready to flee’ tension in her pose could be seen as awkwardness but it could also show a desire to lower her own status signals and not upstage the happy couple,” she said.
Middleton also sat a few inches away from Markle in the photo.
