How Kate Middleton’s Family ‘Contributed’ To Duchess, Prince William’s Split
Kate Middleton’s family was partially blamed for her split from Prince William years ago.
And according to BBC royal correspondent Peter Hunt, the Duchess of Cambridge was devastated with how her parents and siblings were dragged into her separation from the Duke of Cambridge.
Back in 2007, everyone thought that Prince William would already be proposing to Middleton. But to their surprise, the royal couple decided to call it quits.
In the documentary “William & Kate: The Journey,” royal author Duncan Larcombe said that Prince William’s used to mock Middleton’s family background. As such, their comments might have caused the second in line to the throne to second guess his relationship with Middleton.
“One of the theories of mine is it was because of her family background. One or two people in William’s inner circle may have had that view… They used to say ‘doors to manual’ whenever they saw Kate Middleton,” he said.
However, other royal experts have different theories as to why the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge decided to call it quits for the second time around in 2007. Royal commentator Christopher Anderson said that Camilla and Prince Charles were to blame for the breakup.
The Duchess of Cornwall reportedly disliked Middleton, and she didn’t also think that the latter was suited to be part of the royal family. As such, Camilla convinced Prince Charles to talk to Prince William about the future of his relationship with Middleton.
Prince Charles and Prince William’s conversation resulted in the latter realizing that he shouldn’t be with Middleton any longer. But shortly after their split, Prince William and Middleton got back together. In 2010, the royal couple finally got engaged.
On April 29, 2011, the couple decided to tie the knot at Westminster Abbey and they have been together since then. In fact, Prince William and Middleton have also been blessed with three adorable and smart children, namely, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
