Kate Middleton has taken a page from her late mother-in-law Princess Diana's book when it comes to parenting, according to a royal etiquette expert.

In an interview with Us Weekly, Myka Meier, who trained under the royal household of Queen Elizabeth, discussed the similarities between the Duchess of Cambridge's and the late Princess of Wales' parenting styles.

"I think what [Kate] probably has learned in a sense is how to keep her calm," the royal etiquette expert told the outlet. "For instance, Princess Diana, there [was] so much stress and so much pressure all the time. And I think we're seeing the Duchess of Cambridge follow that same path of keeping her calm, even if maybe behind closed doors [she] doesn't feel like that."

Meier praised the future queen consort for doing "an excellent job of not ever letting onto anything but graciousness," which the expert believes is "something she took from Princess Diana’s book, for sure."

The Princess of Wales, who died at the age of 36 after sustaining injuries in a car crash in Paris in 1997, shared Prince William and Prince Harry with ex-husband Prince Charles.

Prince William went on to marry Middleton, with whom he shares Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4.

According to Meier, Middleton's successful approach to parenting includes being a hands-on mom and teaching her children royal etiquette herself instead of making them undergo formal training at a young age.

"It’s actually been said and known that the children are not undergoing actual etiquette training. The Duchess of Cambridge is actually teaching them herself," Meier told the outlet. "So kind of how it works internally is as they're preparing to go meet somebody or get off an airplane, then really the Duchess has been doing a wonderful job of teaching the children."

The Beaumont Etiquette founder shared that when Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are going to meet someone, Middleton would explain to them who they are going to meet and how they should greet this person.

"What I love is that it doesn’t seem like there's any pressure to be something they're not," the etiquette expert said. "These are just beautiful little children and they're showing respect and doing it in the best way that the Duchess and the Duke [of Cambridge] have known to teach them really."

Meier also praised the way Duchess Kate responded to Prince Louis' behavior at the Platinum Jubilee, saying the royal "handled it so graciously and just like a pro."

In June, Prince Louis went viral for his silly antics at various appearances while celebrating Queen Elizabeth II's 70 years on the throne.

During the Platinum Jubilee Pageant on June 5, Middleton and Prince William's youngest child was seen making a series of faces, sticking out his tongue and putting his thumb to his nose while wiggling his remaining fingers as his mom tried to stop him.

But Middleton and Prince Louis had plenty of sweet moments during the event as well, with photos showing the little royal cuddling with his mom and giving her a kiss on the cheek.

Prince Louis also sat on the laps of his dad Prince William and then his grandfather Prince Charles during the parade.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge later poked fun at their youngest son's behavior. In a tweet after the four-day Platinum Jubilee wrapped up, the royal couple wrote, "We all had an incredible time, especially Louis…," and added the eyes emoji.
